Introduction

Everybody is aware of the draconian WorkChoices IR laws that were the dying legacy of the Howard Government.

But the Howard Government did not stop with WorkChoices, they introduced new OHS laws that made changes to the Comcare workers compensation scheme and effected the day to day lives of CEPU members along with working families across the country.

On 11 December 2007, the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, the Hon. Julia Gillard MP announced a review into self-insurance arrangements under the Comcare scheme.

Both the CEPU Communications Division, and it's lawyers Slater & Gordon Lawyers, have made submissions to the review on behalf of CEPU members.

The two major employer groups covered by the CEPU, Australia Post and Telstra, have also made interesting submissions to the review of their own.

Submissions into the review can be found in the left column.
