All members are advised that negotiations are continuing with Australia Post at the most senior level of the Corporation to reach an “in principle” new EBA8.

Any “in principle” new EBA8 will be required to be supported or rejected by a majority of employees covered by the Agreement as a legal requirement under the Fair Work Act 2009.

Further discussions are planned with Australia Post and the relevant Unions being the CEPU and CPSU this coming Wednesday 15 May 2013 in Sydney.

Your Union continues to advance member claims for reaching a new EBA8 with Australia Post consistent with amongst other things, the overwhelming support and strongly felt feedback by members with their EBA8 survey to obtain certainty with:

  • Quality full time Jobs along with access to additional earnings.
  • Protection of all entitlements and conditions that includes maintaining the right to be treated and managed by family doctor when sick or injured.
  • A pay outcome that provides for meeting cost of living pressures and in addition – recognition for maintaining a reliable, affordable and profitable Postal Service.
  • Safeguarding long standing superannuation benefits above the legislative guarantee level.

Like Australia Post it is the preferred position of the Union to reach a new back to back EBA8 that prevents any delay with receiving deserving pay increases without sacrificing trade offs.

Members will be informed of progress or otherwise on this most important matter affecting the future needs and livelihood of members and their families across the nation.
