Jim also presently holds other various elected positions within the Union nationally; 

• Member of the Communications Division National Executive
• Member of the Communications Divisional Conference
• Member of the CEPU National Council
• Member of the CEPU National Executive 

Jim is also a Director of the Australia Post Superannuation Scheme, and a member of the Australian Labor Party’s NSW Branch Administrative Committee.  

Prior to taking up a full-time role with the Union, Jim was employed with Australia Post.  

Jim began his career with Post in 1980 as a Postal Delivery Officer and was promoted to the Delivery Manager level at Randwick Delivery Centre for a short period before accepting to enter the Union as a full-time Official in 1990.   

Jim is responsible for the day to day administration of the NSW Branch and advocating for CEPU members at the highest levels of representation industrially and politically.  

In 2001, Jim was awarded the Centenerary Medal for service to the community through industrial relations. 

The Centenary Medal acknowledges those who contributed to the success of Australia’s first hundred years as a federal nation. The award recognises the many Australians who laid solid foundations for the nation’s future.
