Fixed term contract employees are in a unique position. There is scope for permanent employment contained within industrial agreements between the Union and Australia Post.

The size of that scope and the possibility of a move from fixed term to permanent employment depends on various factors.

Fixed term employees are advised to contact the Union as soon as possible to have the Union undertake a contract review to ensure Australia Post has abided by it's various contractual obligations, in particular it's obligation to offer permanent employment after certain periods of continuous fixed term employment.
