The CEPU has sought urgent meetings at the highest National and State levels to discuss the announcement and attempt to mitigate the affects of the consolidation on it's members.
 

By making this decision without any input and/or proper consultation from the Union, Australia Post has broken their own industrial instruments and agreements - instruments and agreements that tell them they must consult and give Unions a chance to "influence their decision" - before the decision is made.
 

This is the current attitude that has gripped senior management in Australia Post.

Permanent employees have been assured of no involuntary redundancies.
