Sign the Petition for Better Quality Uniforms
In response to the numerous complaints received
from CEPU Members about the poorest quality
uniform issue in memory, the CEPU is circulating
a petition for all CEPU members to sign and
support.
Australia Post CEPU members demand a fair go for
the following uniform issues:
Leather Jackets be made available for postal
delivery officers, transport drivers and
mail and parcels officers who may be
required to complete ANY part of
their work outdoors;
Wet weather gear be replaced with proper
clothing which protects and keeps us safe
and dry when performing our duties in wet
weather;
Thermal clothing, jumpers and shower proof
flying jackets be made available to all MND
employees, and as a matter of priority for
those working in cold climates, eg ACT,
Orange, Lithgow, Cooma;
Cooler uniform options be made available for
summer climatic conditions especially for
outdoors duties performed by transport
drivers, postal delivery officers, mail and
parcel officers (docks);
Genuine Consultation on uniform/workwear
issues be established immediately with the
CEPU under Section 3 of EBA6;
That the issues concerning winter uniforms be
immediately addressed
given weather predictions that 2008 winter will
be colder, wetter and harsher than any winter in
the last ten years.
Please return the signed petitions by Friday 16
May 2008 to the CEPU State Office on:
Authorised by Jim Metcher, State Secretary
