Last week, the media revealed two extremely detailed leaked Powerpoint slideshows produced by Telstra Human Resources staff. They showed:

- Pay rises they have planned for your base rates over the next three years do not meet inflation

- Plans to save $37 million in remuneration costs

What can you do about it?

Telstra put forward three options for internal discussion in the HR department - not discussion with you!

Telstra’s leaked pay option slide. Option 3 is the best, but even that option means a real paycut over three years when you compare it with inflation (rising cost of living). CPI is rising at a rate of 4.5% a year.

HR is not respecting your right to be represented by your union. They are not bargaining over your wages and conditions. The non-union, non-negotiated “employee agreement” is take it or leave it.

However, by acting together, you can still have your say.

Unions propose a fourth payrise option. We call it the Respect Option.

-
It is higher than the payrise options Telstra HR is considering: but is still reasonable and affordable, and a lot less than executive increases

- It gives you a 5% payrise each year over three years to keep pace with inflation

- It recognises the productivity gains hardworking Telstra staff have made over the last three years

- It should be a minimum rise for all workers, no matter what agreement or contract they’re on
