Action ballot opens 9 September

Tuesday 1 September 2009

After the green light was given to proceed with our ballot for protected industrial action, the CEPU has been in discussions with the Australian Electoral Commission.

We can now advise that the ballot will officially open on Wednesday 9 September.

Here are the key dates:

  • 1 September, 5.00pm - rolls close
  • 9 September, 5.00pm - ballot opens and papers sent out
  • 10 September - ballot papers start reaching members - please vote YES and return ballot in envelope provided STRAIGHT AWAY
  • BALLOT CLOSES: 2 October, 10am - get your papers back by this time
  • 5 October - CEPU estimates results likely to be known

By 5pm tomorrow (2 Sept), the following important AEC notice MUST be displayed in your workplace, download a copy below:

This notice contains vital information about the voting process and we recommend that you read it.

Please remember:

  • The CEPU is recommending members vote YES in the ballot, to assist in obtaining an EBA that provides security, safety and better protection of take home pay.

IMPORTANT

The key things to ask yourself RIGHT NOW:

  • Have I provided the Union with my APS number?

  • Have I told the Union that I've changed workplaces recently?
