You get your say: Ballot to go ahead in Post

Friday 6 November 2009

Late yesterday Fair Work Australia (FWA) approved our application to hold a ballot of Union members for protected industrial action in Post.

Post has spent the biggest part of this year rejecting your claims.  Then Post spent big money to stop members from having their say in a protected action ballot.

But now you WILL have your say.  Now it’s time for action.

This ballot is your opportunity to send a message to management and tell Australia Post that ‘enough is enough’.

We have given Post every chance to review their stand and accommodate your requests – but they won’t budge on your biggest concerns;

·         A commitment to promoting and protecting full-time jobs

·         Ending the use of FNDs in workers compensation claims

·         Full access to arbitration for ALL disputes

·         Maintaining ‘status quo’ during workplace disputes

·         Protecting penalty shifts

Regardless of what information Post out, this is your ballot and your Union will give you the LEGITIMATE updates on the progress of the ballot.

Members are urged to keep the pressure on Post. Let management know that they will not get away with a second rate EBA.

IMPORTANT

The key things to ask yourself RIGHT NOW:

  • Do I need to let the Union know if any of my contact or personal details have changed?

  • Have I provided the Union with my APS number?

  • Have I told the Union that I've changed workplaces recently?

  • Have I told the Union I've changed names (eg. due to recent marriage)?

Update your details now by calling (02) 9893 7822 or emailing feedback@cepu.org
