Wednesday 25 May
The first two weeks of May saw a
concentrated round of negotiations
between the CEPU, CPSU and management.
The talks have been productive and very
positive, canvassing a wide range of key
issues.
Progress has been made on a number of
key issues, including;
· Dispute
resolution – where Australia Post has
agreed to full arbitration
· Resolving
our outstanding concerns regarding the
use to Facility Nominated Doctors
· Developing
a new Occupational Health & Safety
Agreement – that will fully involve
unions, similar to the 1992 Agreement
· A
fresh look at the issue of job design,
particularly within
MND, to help lift productivity,
flexibility and protect the number of
full time jobs
· Wide
ranging discussions on modernising the
Retail Post Agreement
|
The
agreement by Post to include
access to arbitration on any
dispute within the
Enterprise Agreement is a
major step forward – and
will help address member
demands to have their
conditions protected. This
is a big win. |
There's still some work to do
but the fact that the parties have
resolved some long standing issues
demonstrates that genuine progress is
being made. There is also a clear
commitment to quickly finalise a new
Fair Work Agreement.
We will keep you updated on
developments, with further talks
scheduled for next week.
