Why am I receiving a Security
Certificate Error?
When you are filling out your details,
they are secure on your computer. Once you press the submit button,
they are sent over the public internet to the Union office.
The way we counter the potential
interception of your details is by receiving your details through a
128 bit secure server, which means your details are encrypted in to
a language that only the receiving computer (The Union) can decode.
Some newer versions of Microsoft
Internet Explorer by default blocks access to secure servers without
you giving the website "permission" to open a secure connection. If
this is so, you will receive an error the same, or similar to the
one below once you press the "submit" button while trying to join
the Union or convert from PRD.

The purpose of this alert is to let you
know that you are entering a secure environment and is asking you to
give permission to the website to open a secure encrypted connection
between yourself and the Union's form processor.
To give the Union's website permission
to open this secure connection, click on the error box that appears
at the top of the page and a small menu should appear.
A number of options will appear. The one
you need to click on is "Display Blocked Content". On some older PCs
this may appear as "Run Active Content". This is the same thing.
See below:

Once you click this option, the Union's
website will re-load. Once it re-loads, reopen the form you are
trying to complete and it should let you submit your form with no
problems whatsoever.
